Working with my adviser Ms. Ramya Ashok allowed me to focus on what kind of experiences I wanted to have or look for in order to reach my goal of being admitted into a university that I loved. From building a portfolio website (by myself!) to trying experiences out of my comfort zone, Ms. Ramya encouraged me to be adventurous. In a way, throughout the application process and writing my essays (which I was given guidance by Ms. Ramya), I had an idea of what kind of person I wanted to be, and for that I am eternally grateful.”
Thank you so much for being a wonderful guide through this experience Ms. Ramya- I am extremely grateful for your help!

I have been accepted into the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism as a Journalism major. I could not have waltzed through the otherwise arduous journey of college applications without the help of my adviser, Ramya Ashok. Her constant support and guidance made this that much easier and I am so grateful she was a part of this step in my life.

We are pleased to see that our son has been accepted to all ten universities to which he applied. Your guidance was incredibly valuable in securing the admission. Thank you for your help and support throughout the process.

My adviser Ramya Ashok, helped me discover myself during the individual sessions conducted on essays for my college applications. It boosted my confidence and encouraged me to work harder. Over all, I have come to realize that applying to U.S. universities is much more than submitting grades– It’s an experience that is enriching and builds an individual as a whole! If one dedicates to it and simultaneously enjoys it, the results are fruitful.

  • Colleges are generally smaller institutions focused on undergraduate education, while universities are larger and offer both undergraduate and graduate programs. Both can be of high quality, and the terms are often used interchangeably. Learn more about accredited institutions at ed.gov.

    • State/Public Universities: Large institutions funded by state governments, offering lower tuition for in-state residents.

    • Private Universities: Independently funded, smaller than public universities, with higher tuition but equal access for all.

    • Community Colleges: Offer two-year associate degrees and vocational programs, often with transfer pathways to four-year universities.

    • Technical/Vocational Colleges: Provide short-term certificates and diplomas for career-focused education.

    • Distance Education: Online or hybrid learning options to earn U.S. degrees without relocating.

  • Liberal arts education emphasizes a broad foundation of knowledge, with courses in arts, humanities, social sciences, and sciences, alongside a chosen major. This approach develops critical thinking and versatile skills.

    • Associate Degree: A two-year program often offered by community colleges, designed for either workforce entry or transfer to a bachelor’s program.

    • Bachelor’s Degree: A four-year program that includes general education and major-specific courses.

  • The "2+2" program involves completing two years at a community college, earning an associate degree, and then transferring to a four-year university to complete a bachelor’s degree. This is often more affordable and flexible.

  • Use online tools like the College Board’s BigFuture or U.S. News Best Colleges search engine for tailored college searches based on your preferences.

  • Academic offerings, location, cost, campus size, student services, housing options, extracurricular activities, and social environment. Review the institution’s website and accreditation status to ensure quality.
